Essential Layer is building an integrated, controlled and traceable manufacturing platform for allergy-aware and skin-safe textiles in Carmona, Cavite — and proposing to make the Philippines the place that capability is built.
01 · What we are
The company is best understood in two layers. Cottonique is the flagship consumer brand and the commercial proof that the market exists. Essential Layer is the industrial capability underneath it — the material governance, process control, testing and traceability that make the products possible. The expansion is an investment in the second layer.
Approximately 500 active SKUs across sensitive-skin essentials, non-compression and adjustable garments, newborn and infant textiles, women’s health and recovery, adaptive wear, and healthcare apparel in development. The defining feature is what is excluded, disclosed, and verified, not what is added.
Every component is being formalised around supplier, composition, record scope, risk profile, and change-control information. Unauthorised substitution is prohibited; claims are classified by evidence status before they are used.
Manufacturing is in Carmona, Cavite. An affiliated entity in San Francisco holds the brand and international customer relationship. The integrated operation exists so every input can be specified, disclosed, and controlled.
The platform is the enduring capability. The garments are applications of the platform.
02 · Who it serves

03 · Industrial proposition
The accurate framing is an export-oriented industrial project introducing a commercially scalable, integrated, and auditable manufacturing system for allergy-aware and skin-safe textiles.
We believe no comparable integrated commercial platform currently operates in the country, and we are prepared to commission independent verification.
Material governance, contamination control, human controls, laboratory testing, packaging integrity, and traceability combine into a manufacturing methodology materially different from conventional apparel production.
Beyond commodity apparel into specialised products with demanding material, testing, and documentation requirements.
Skilled employment, export earnings, in-house laboratory capability, supplier upgrading, and a differentiated Philippine manufacturing category.
The same platform supports multiple product families and institutional markets, and can extend to private-label manufacturing.

04 · Production flow
Incoming material is not stock. It is held in quarantine, sampled by lot, and tested against a defined method with a stated detection limit and acceptance criteria. Only material the laboratory releases enters production. Finished goods pass a second gate before they are packed, and retention samples are planned for every lot against future investigation.
Two gates carry the whole argument. Material that fails is returned rather than reworked into the run. Zoning, filter classes, pressure regimes, and air-change rates for Cavite Light Industrial Park remain open design questions.
05 · Distribution
Manufacturing happens in one place; fulfilment happens in three. Garments are made, inspected, and sealed at the Essential Layer factory in Carmona, Cavite, then exported to Essential Layer Inc. in San Francisco, California — the entity that holds the brand and customer relationship. Stock is held at third-party logistics providers in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, which ship directly to the person who ordered it. Unit-level serialisation is being formalised for the proposed platform.
